S6 SWIVEL CHAIR

S6's designer wanted to create the most minimal, full-function task chair ever made. With an innovative tri-panel mesh backrest that provides custom back and lumbar support and a lightweight design. S6 is, like all of MARATTI’s products, simple, beautiful and functional. The design eliminates the need for traditional mechanisms, instead using the laws of physics and the sitter’s body weight to offer perfect recline for each individual sitter. S6 offers the ultimate user-friendly sitting experience.

Suspension technology

S6's back is designed like a human's, with a central spine and flexible ribs. The suspension bridge is the support of the chairback, contributing to a thin and flexible frame. Once the chair is tuned to fit you, the backrest adapts to your movement, adjusting automatically to your shifting positions. Whether you lean forward , backward or even left and right sides, support remains constant.

Weight-sensitive mechanism

Donati mechanism uses the laws of physics and harnesses the people's body weight to automatically provide the right amount of recline for every individual, every time.

Lumbar supporter

S6 developed the chair’s back using the laws of physics, combining with a separate lumbar support, which tends to create a pressure point and requires manual adjustment to adjust the tightness and height so that the backrest perfectly conforms to the sitter’s entire back as if custom made for them.

Zero-pressure technology

To maximize comfort, S6 arched the front of seat, solving a perennial problem of hard edges placing pressure on the knees and contact stress behind the thights, allowing long-term comfort and total supports for every sitter. Thanks to a dynamic matrix of pixels, the seat and back automatically conform to your body’s micro-movements, distributing your weight evenly as you sit. This reduces pressure and encourages movement, both of which are key to maintaining healthy circulation and focus.

A breath of fresh air for new ideas.

S6 provides the ideal working environment with its mesh backrest. The mesh is breathable and prevents heat build-up. The mesh backrest also impresses in terms of comfortable and body support. It moulds to the body, following the contours and provides support. S6 proves: light design and comfort do not have to be contradictory.

DESIGNS

Jack Zhou began by looking at designs that deliver the most with the least. And then he took a look at the Skye Bridge. Jack Zhou wondered, could the engineering principles of a suspension bridge be applied to a chair?

The notion of using a suspension tower to support an unframed suspension back meant that the elastomer material could be stretched in a way that provides the greatest tension at points where support is needed and the least in areas that would allow for the most expansive range of motion.
